Whenever it comes to store a particular document . The picture of the photocopy and stacks of files comes in our mind. But it is also possible some of our document digitally in our phone. I am not talking about simply scanning or taking a photo of it. It is not a legal way to store it. Government has designed and prepared specific apps to store our documents digitally in our phone and they can also be used as valid Id proof. With respect to the Information Technology Act 2000 it is actually legal to store a particular document digitally and also it will be accepted as an valid ID or document irrespective to the orignal file/document.
The server of digilocker automatically fetches our document directly from the servers as it is application of government of india and all the government websites are linked under it. With the use of digilocker we do not need to carry bulks of documents with us. They are all stored in our phone in a digital way. Suppose if we forget to carry our Driving License and documents related with that vehicle it is legal to show the saved digital document to the RTO officer under the IT act 2000. They will be treated as orignal documents. Not only License we can save other documents such as Aadhar Card, Pan card, Our 10th, 12th marksheets, etc.
Also when it comes to fill any online in most of the cases we have to upload the document for that purpose firstly we have to scan it adjust its size and then upload it but for some sites the option to fetch document directly from digilocker is also available. So instead of uploading the document we can directly fetch the document from the digilocker server. It also gives us space to keep our other document .
So now we come to the part of the installation process of the Digilocker.
Step 1: Type Digilocker in Play Store and Install the app. or you can also download it from here https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.digilocker.android
Step 2: Using your Aadhar number and Mobile number create your user ID with the help of OTP.
Step 3: Now you are ready to use Digilocker app. You will see the various options click on them and get any document digitally. It is legal and has e-sign on it.

Keep your documents safely in your home reduce the risk of getting lost. Why to carry them if we can carry them in our phone.
